Saturday Fun!

Finally we had a Saturday where we had absolutely nothing to do. The past few have been super busy and we hadn't been able to spend one together as a family in a while. It was finally a beautiful, sunny SC Saturday! The past few weeks I had started to think we lived in Seattle with the amount of rain we have been getting!

A friend told me about an event that was going on downtown sponsored by the Imagination Library. There was face painting, clowns, a magician, and some storybook characters. The goose is absolutely obsessed with Curious George. We have seen every single episode probably 100 times or more. Every night she runs into our room and says "Bed! George!". She grabs her daddy and drags him to our bed where they lay down and watch an episode on his iphone. It amazes me how smart little ones are with technology. She opens up the app, clicks on George and enlarges the screen. They pick up on stuff so fast! Then if we are out shopping she digs my phone out of my purse and turns George on and contently watches while I shop. The way she says George always cracks us up. You would think she was from Boston and not South Carolina in how she says George.

As soon as we walked up to the event , there HE was! She squealed, "GEORGE!" I had kind of thought she would be a little scared of him or wondered why he was so big :) We were able to get a quick picture and then she was off to check out the fountains. Another thing she is crazy for is water! The plaza where the event was held was surrounded by water and fountains so she just kept running back and forth! Later on she saw George and the character from Where the Wild Things Are and she ran up and gave them both high fives!

There was a face painting booth set up. I really didn't think she would sit still for someone to paint her face or that she would immediately rub it off before it dried but she surprised me! She sat perfectly still in my lap as the girl painted a pink flower. She never even touched it! She's getting to be such a big girl!

Since it was such a pretty day we decided to stroll around downtown. We checked out a toy store to try to get ideas for her birthday/Christmas. They had a little Curious George stuffed animal that we will have to get. Surprisingly she doesn't have one already.

Then we walked up on WOLI (Wheel of Lights and Inspiration) which is a ferris wheel that they set up in town just for 2 weeks to help draw people into the city. My husband works downtown and can see it from his office. His coworkers and himself had been talking about how random it was to look out and there was just this ferris wheel in the middle of downtown. He didn't quite get the point of it but I think it did bring a good many people out.

Anyways we walked up to it and I asked her if she wanted to ride it. Of course her answer to everything here lately is a quick and short "Yeah". Daddy however was a little hesitant thinking she wouldn't be still and that she would jump out of it or something. After watching some other smaller children riding it, I convinced him to give it a try.

We got in and up we went!

She followed instructions well and hung on to the bar in the middle of the buggy. When I looked up I then understood why daddy was so hesitant to get on. The boy is scared of heights! He was just sitting there with his face down, eyes closed and taking slow deep breaths.

I ended up being more worried about him than the goose! He was SO ready to get off of it! She started screaming when they had us get off because she wanted to keep riding! Daddy however was ecstatic!

Beside the ferris wheel they had some sidewalk chalk for the kids. Ella LOVES sidewalk chalk! During the week at Nana's she draws all over the driveway and sidewalk. She ran over to the bucket and got busy!

After a fun morning we had some lunch and went to our favorite store Target :)

She takes such small bites :)

When we got home daddy let us girls take a LONG nap and he did yard work all afternoon. Later on him and the goose went to Grandma's house and I was able to get all the housecleaning done!

Absolutely Perfect Day!!!

How I found them watching George tonight. I think the wrong one fell asleep haha!!

And as a disclaimer I apologize for all the pics being phone pics! My sister has already gotten on to me for not using my nice new camera today! I will try better next time :)

Newbie

Hi! I have always loved reading other people's blogs but was always intimated to start my own thinking  I would have nothing to talk about! I finally decided to give it a try!

Well let me introduce my self. At home I am called mama of the goose. The goose is our only child and she received the name goose when she was just a newborn. She would crane her little neck and look around just like a goose and the name just stuck! She is now a 22 month old silly goose who keeps us entertained! I have been happily married for almost 7 years and we dated for 5 years before that. He was my high school sweetheart and we met at church. The goose could not have a better daddy. He plays with her the minute she wakes up till the minute she goes to sleep. He is her favorite person in the world! She gets super jealous if I lay next to him and she tells me to go away. Yea feel the love :)

By day I am a nurse and I love my job! I also enjoy traveling (wish I had unlimited $$ and I would do it a lot more), church, LONG naps, crafting (Umm I mean watching my talented sister do craft projects for me :) ) planning parties (currently planning the goose's 2nd bday party), shopping, learning photography, keeping up with all social media (FB, Instagram and Pinterest) ,  playing with the goose, Target, date nights at Barnes and Noble ( I love some white choc mocha and catching up on all the celebrity gossip), frozen yogurt, trying new restaurants, gardening with lots of help from my MIL, Goose snuggles and hugs, and fall time ( I get so excited seeing all the fall stuff in the stores).

Today was a Mama and Baby Goose day! I had the day off work so we headed to our local library for Rocking Babies Story Time! She normally goes with my mom so it was a special treat that I was able to take her. She loves dancing to the songs as you can see!

Dancing

                                                          Laying Down for Story Time

Playing with her friend M from gymnastics

Then we did a little mama shopping! She helped me pick out some new gray polish at Ulta. The girl loves nail polish! When we walked up to the aisle of all the OPI polish she squealed OOOO WEEEE! She makes me change her toe color multiple times and she gets OCD when her polish is chipped. She will also point out when other people's polish is chipped ( right MiMi?). She pulls up her little stool, sits down and puts a book under her feet. She then proceeds to pick out which polish she wants. It is so cute when I am finished she sits there and blows on her toenails. She then makes daddy sit in the chair and she paints his nails. He is a good sport :) I just knew when we painted his toenails blue that he would get in a wreck or something and people would wonder about him haha!

                                                                My clients for the day

Ella needs a little more practice

Then we met Mimi at one of our favorite lunch spots! Goose tries to be just like her aunt MiMi! She always eats all of MiMi's chips and today she thought she would copy Mimi. Since Mimi was dipping her wrap in ranch the goose thought she would dip her chips in Ranch. She then proceeded to eat a choc chip cookie. Her health fanatic Daddy would not of been proud of her lunch choices today :)

Then it was home for a nap!
We had a fun day together!
